About This Trek

The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the world's most famous trekking routes. This challenging journey takes you to the base camp of Mount Everest (8,849m), the world's highest mountain. You'll trek through diverse ecosystems, experience traditional Sherpa culture, and witness stunning Himalayan landscapes. The trek culminates at the legendary Everest Base Camp at 5,364m, where countless mountaineers prepare for their assault on the summit.

Detailed 14-Day Itinerary

Day 1-2: Kathmandu to Namche Bazaar

Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860m) - one of the world's most thrilling flights. Trek through rhododendron forests and Sherpa villages to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), the gateway to the Khumbu region. Acclimatization day to adjust to altitude.

Day 3-4: Namche to Tengboche

Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3,867m) with spectacular views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks. The monastery is a spiritual center of Sherpa Buddhism.

Day 5-6: Tengboche to Gorak Shep

Cross rocky terrain and high altitude pastures. Reach Gorak Shep (5,164m), the base camp for further ascents.

Day 7: Everest Base Camp

Reach the legendary Everest Base Camp at 5,364m. Walk among mountaineering expeditions and witness the Khumbu Glacier. Return to Gorak Shep in the afternoon.

Day 8: Kala Patthar Sunrise Trek

Wake up early for the Kala Patthar trek to witness the sunrise over Everest and surrounding peaks from the best vantage point.

Day 9-11: Descent

Trek back to Lukla with leisurely descents through scenic valleys and Sherpa villages.

Day 12-14: Return to Kathmandu

Fly back to Kathmandu and rest before departure.

Best Time to Visit

September to November: Clear skies, cool weather, excellent visibility. High probability of tiger and rhino sightings.

December to February: Cool and dry with clear views. Best for bird watching.

March to May: Warm weather, but wildlife less active. Still good for rhino spotting.
